Overall, the article is useful and touches on many of the factors milling managers need to take into account when making production decisions.

SPB can cause a lot of damage and loss. Unfortunately, the only measures of fighting it are to fell all of the trees in an infection center. Detecting infection centers early is the key. Easier said than done.
ReplyDeleteI have heard that some furniture makers like the blue color from fungi that colonize beetle infected wood. Yet to hear of an actual market for it though....
